People ask us often, where the "C Squared" name comes from. In 2009, when Wes set out to name the firm, he and his wife Gini had one child and one on the way... Hence the name! Although the firm is actually named "C Squared Wealth Strategies", most people (including us) just say "C2 Wealth Strategies" or "C2" instead.

Getting Started

Joining the workforce for the first time can be overwhelming, we are here to make that transition as smooth as possible. While income and assets may not be massive, we'll review those because we believe in the potential and future growth. We also will coach our clients in how to live within their means, review their employee benefits, and be a sounding board for questions and concerns regarding debts such as student loans and large purchases such as a car or house. We believe in automated savings, so we'll walk through saving for emergencies, retirement, and even insurance coverage.

Marriage

What to do after "I do"? Typically with a new spouse comes asset growth, and the merging of two budgets. Just like with our clients just starting out, we will also remind our newlyweds what it means to live within your means and the implications that has for the future. We start with financial planning, decide if accounts will be joined or kept separate, discuss the realistic costs of having a family, and we'll review the assets and liabilities associated with both spouses.

Children and Family

Children are undoubtedly a blessing, but we want to help you plan for them. Our first step is to set a savings plan for their college at birth. We want you to benefit from compounding interest, so it is essential that you begin early, especially in light of the rising cost of raising a child. Wes is responsible for the overall growth, profitability, and strategic direction for C2 Wealth Strategies.  He founded C2 Wealth Strategies with the vision of creating a unique client experience through holistic financial planning.  Wes believes that relationships are important and with clear communication, we can establish true expectations and identify the steps needed to reach one's goals.  Once communication and expectations are relayed, we go to work to help our clients reach their ultimate destination.   

Wes began his financial planning career with MassMutual Financial Group in Birmingham, Alabama.  After relocating to the Alabama Gulf Coast over 17 years ago, he decided to start a firm where he could dedicate himself to offering objective professional guidance to his clients.  Wes helps individuals with their financial planning needs which includes investment management, risk management, tax and estate planning strategies.  He also works with corporations to help design, implement and service their employee benefit and retirement plan needs. 

Wes received his B.A. degree from Auburn University in 2004.  Wes obtained the professional designations of AIF (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) and CFS (Certified Fund Specialist).  

Wes has been married for 16 years to his wife, Gini, and they reside in Fairhope.  They have three children: Turner (14), Berkley (12), and Elle (10). Wes is the treasurer of the Augusta Evans School Foundation, a board member of the Development Council of USA Children's and Women's Hospital, and a 2018 graduate Emerging Leaders Mobile sponsored by the Small Business Administration (SBA).  Wes and his family are active members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope.  In his free time, Wes enjoys golf, hunting and entertaining his active family.

Mike joined C2 Wealth Strategies in early 2017.  Mike is a partner in C2 Insurance Group, LLC and is responsible for the overall sales and marketing strategy for C2 Insurance.  He has been in the insurance profession since 2004 and joins us from Aflac where he served as district manager.  He is certified to offer Medicare and employee benefit plans.  He specializes in life, short term disability, long term disability, vision, dental and long-term care insurance. 

C2 Insurance Group, LLC has access to multiple markets and specialized carriers to help our clients with their risk management portfolio.  Mike strives to be the only answer for your needs in the ever-changing insurance landscape.  Mike has been married to Jamie Maskill for 20 years and they have two children, Peyton and Parker.  Mike enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and playing golf in his downtime.

Joseph began his financial planning career with New York Life in 2011 and served as a financial professional for several years prior to making partner in the Mobile, AL general office.  In 2016, he joined MassMutual Financial Group and co-managed the Mobile, AL branch while also serving his clients as a financial advisor with a focus in risk management.

Joseph joined the C2 family in January 2019 and finds passion in all things technological.  He believes that the best client experience is all about the details and that effectively utilizing technology is integral to the firm's mission to deliver the absolute best.  He serves as director of technology in addition to his role as wealth advisor to the firms' clients.  Joseph earned his CRPS (Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist) designation by completing a program with the College for Financial Planning and has passed investment registration exams through FINRA for the Series 7, 6, 63, and 65.

Joseph is married to Casey Turlington and has one son, Eli.  They are active members of Dayspring Baptist Church in Mobile, AL.  Joseph plays guitar and sings in rotation with Dayspring's worship band and at some local restaurants in his spare time.

Kayley Huggins joined our C2 Wealth Family as the Director of Marketing in 2020. Kayley graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in General Business. She married Andrew in 2016 and they have two boys, Oliver and Forrest. They are active members at West Mobile Baptist Church, where Andrew leads the college students. Kayley also works as a travel agent through The Traveling Mouse Company, planning vacations to Disney, Universal, various cruise lines, and more. She most enjoys family game nights, neighborhood walks, and spending time by the pool.

What does it cost to do business with C2?

Well, just like in everything we do for our clients, we want to be flexible. Because we believe that access to quality advice should be available to everyone, we will work with you to come up with the best pricing model to fit your unique situation.

We start with a customized Financial Plan to serve as the road map and guide our decisions along the way towards financial freedom and confidence. Financial planning services include defining goals, gathering data, analyzing data, developing plan, presenting plan and implementing the plan.

The plan is a “living document”, continually updated as life changes and leading us to the appropriate solutions and illustrating your progress every step of the way. We can work on an hourly planning fee basis or flat fee as well if desired.
